Recommendations for Macbeth 

El Señor de los Cielos is a Spanish Soap opera that is based off a famous drug lord, Amado Carrillo Fuentes. In the show Aurelio Casillas plays the role of the drug lord and he has a lot of ambition. He does not care if one is his own blood he is willing to kill if it is for his own benefit. This reminds me of Macbeth because Aurelio has many wives that pass away and he always shakes it off and says everyone is born to die and it does not seem to bother him. This relates to Macbeth because Macbeth has a lot of ambition, although Banquo was not his blood he was his best friend but he did not mind killing him for his own benefit. Same with Lady Macbeth, when she died it did not seem to bother Macbeth as much because it did not have anything with him being king. Aurelio loses a lot of people who are close to him for his own benefit, he is very selfish but it does not come off that way and same with Macbeth he kills but he still does not seem to be portrayed as a killer or a murder.  

Señora Acero is another Spanish Soap opera that I love watching on Netflix, I am still not done watching it in fact. It is about a widow who had married a man in the army and had been connected with the drug lords in Mexico and apparently he had robbed money from the drug lords and after they killed her husband they haunted her down which eventually led her into becoming a drug lord as well. She did not ever want to become one but the drug cartels were the only way she could gain protection so she eventually turned herself in with them. I think this show can relate to Macbeth when connecting it to appearance versus reality. When the witches gave Macbeth the prophecy it seemed to be something amazing that he was going to be crowned Thane of Cawdor but they did not tell him everything that also came along with the crown, same with Sara in the show she did not know that marrying her husband was going to bring so many problems to her life. Macbeth prophecy that the witches gave him appeared to be very simple but in reality it led to him killing the King and his very own best friend and eventually to his death all do to the prophecy.

How to get away Murder would be a good show for Macbeth because the show is about a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defense professor, they all become connected with a murder plot that promises to change the next years of their lives. In this show each student gets caught in their lies and they do not stick with those lies because they keep making more lies. They hurt people just to keep their innocent profile and not get in trouble with the police. This show connects with Macbeth because when he kills King Duncan he then kills the guards because he wants to keep on lying to the people to keep his innocent profile, he wants to set the blame on the guards or even Malcom children and say their the ones who wanted to kill the king.  Macbeth also kills Banqou and lies about it because he began to have suspicion on Macbeth. Macbeth continues to lie and try to keep his innocence but it does not last for long!! 

Narcos will also be a good show for Macbeth because it can show him where ambition leads to at the end. Narcos is about the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar who is haunted down by the DEA and eventually killed. Pablo Escobar killed many innocent lives due to his ambition throughout his life. He also helped many people. Pablo was a good man and at the same time a bad man because he let his ambition get to him. He became the biggest drug lord in Colombia. This show connects to Macbeth because it can clearly show him that too much ambition is not good and it will lead to having a lot of enemies who do not want to see you prosper. Although the DEA killed Pablo, they had a lot of help of other drug cartels who were enemies of Pablo. Macbeth let his ambition get to his head and it eventually led to his death because he did not have a stopping point he wanted to get anyone out of his way and not in the right way. Macbeth should watch this show and learn from it.
